LEARNING ACTIVITIES AND LINKS:

1. Make a double bubble map to contrast and compare Bilbo with another character of your choice using the Wordle and Character Analysis activities. You may do this on the computer or on a piece of chart paper.

Vocabulary

2. You will keep a running list of vocabulary words with definitions in your journal or in Google Docs throughout the unit. Use this online dictionary to look up the meanings for the words. You will have a vocabulary quiz at the end of the module.




3. You will read Chapters 4-5 and complete the study guide questions to prepare for the Comprehension Quiz at the end of the module. You may work with your assigned partner.


4. Review the Good Discussions handout and rubric. You will participate in the following discussion topic on Schoologyand respond to one peer.


Topic: Think about Bilbo and the pros and cons of his quest. Decide whether or not you think going on this quest is a good idea for Bilbo and to persuade him to go or NOT to go.
